Privacy Policy

Scion Saga (“we,” “us”) is the official site for the Scion Saga novels by Cālix Leigh-Reign, published by Sovareign. This policy explains what we collect when you use scionsaga.com, why, and what choices you have. Contact: hello@scionsaga.com.

What we collect

Fan club sign-ups

When you join the Scion Saga Addicts, we store the email address and first name you give us, the Verse you chose or were sourced to by the quiz, whether you joined from the site or the quiz, whether you entered the free-gift offer, and the date. To limit abuse we also store a one-way hash of your connection address for one hour; the address itself is never stored.

Get Sourced quiz

We record each result (the Verse and the answers) with a visitor token that changes every day and cannot be traced back to you. If you choose to send your result to the fan club, it is attached to your sign-up as above.

Site analytics

We run our own first-party analytics. For each page view we record the page, the referring site (if any), the country, region and city our hosting provider derives from your connection, the device class (desktop, tablet or mobile), and a visitor token made by hashing your connection address and browser with a secret that rotates daily. We do not store your IP address, we do not use cookies for analytics, and we do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or any other third-party tracker. We also log interactions such as which galaxy or character was opened and which retailer link was clicked.

Email

If you write to us, we keep your message and address for as long as needed to answer you.

How we use it

To send you the one welcome email and, occasionally, news about new installments, the Sweam series, merch and the author's desk. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and we honor one-click unsubscribe.
To contact you if you are chosen for a fan club gift.
To understand which parts of the site people use and where our readers are, in aggregate.
To keep the site safe from abuse.

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

Who processes it

The site runs on Cloudflare (hosting, edge network and database) and sends email through Resend. Both act on our instructions under their own privacy and security terms. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address when the font files are requested. Links to Amazon, Apple Books, Google Play, Bookshop.org, TikTok Shop and Sweam take you to those companies' sites, governed by their policies.

How long we keep it

Fan club records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them; unsubscribed addresses are kept only as a hash so we do not email you again. Quiz results and analytics are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted or reduced to totals.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe from any email using the link in it. You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it by writing to hello@scionsaga.com; we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California, you have these rights by law, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with access limited to the site's operator. No method of storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top tells you when it last changed, and material changes will be noted on this page.
