Readers deserve to know what was made by a person and what was made with a machine. This page says exactly that.
The books are written by a human
Opaque, Split Adam and Specular, and every future Scion Saga novel, are written by Cālix Leigh-Reign. No part of the novels was generated by artificial intelligence. Quotations on this site are taken from the author's published text.
Where AI is used
- Character avatars. The portraits and full-body images on the Characters page are AI-assisted renderings produced from the author's written descriptions and direction, then reviewed and selected by the author. Where a book does not describe a character's appearance, the avatar is a visual proposal and is labeled “proposed” on the card. Avatars do not depict real people, and any resemblance to a real person is coincidental.
- Worlds, planets, suns and galaxies. The planet and sun images and some concept art, including the views of Meridian, are AI-assisted illustrations built from the books' descriptions and the author's design notes.
- Site copy. Summaries and descriptions on this site were drafted with AI assistance from the author's manuscripts and then edited and approved by the author. They are not canon; the books are.
Where AI is not used
No AI chatbot runs on this site. We do not use AI to profile visitors, to make decisions about you, or to generate emails to the fan club. The Sweam series is produced under the author's direction; see Sweam for its own production notes.
Canon and corrections
If an image or description on this site conflicts with the books, the books are correct. The author reserves the right to replace any AI-assisted image or text at any time. Spotted something off? Write to hello@scionsaga.com.
